I bought this for my 7 year old nephew. He was thrilled by it but nowhere near as much as his Dad was. He hasn't stopped going on about it and keeps telling me all the exciting places he's going to go with his helicopter. My poor nephew. Maybe he'll get to play with it if and when the novelty wears off.
 Fun to fly but the charger is rubbish June 17, 2010

We all had great fun with the first helicopter when it arrived, but sadly had to send it back when charging became more and more difficult. We ended up having to hold the tiny cable in the charger for the 20 mins to keep it in! We returned that, only to find that the replacement was even worse. The plug seemed to fit in the socket of the charger, but the indicator light did not come on and the chopper wouldn't charge so that went back too. Such a shame as the flying was fun!

As everyone says really great fun for very little money. I had trouble controlling the spinning even after adjusting the trim so I checked the internet and there is a popular modification in adding a second tail fin symmetrically above the tail. This can be done with a small piece of lightweight plastic or even tape doubled around the tail and trimmed to shape. It doubles the resistance to the tail rotor and it makes a vast difference to controllability and made it much less hit and miss when flying. Good luck and happy flying.

I bought this toy for a 12 year old, and he was over the moon with it. It was quite easy to master, and it was not long before he was able to manouver it about very sucessfully!. Sadly, on one occasion when he crashed it into a nearby plant, he wasn't quick enough to stop the blades rotating, and this rendered the helicopter useless. Something inside burnt out and alas it would fly no more. So, overall great fun but not at all up to the haphazard use by the average 12 year old!
