I purchased this product on the recommendation of a friend, who has a daughter aged 4 1/2 yrs. My 3 yr old thoroughly enjoys it - she loves Thomas the tank engine. You purchase books that provide interactive responses when touched by the wand and there are also games on each page - The wand interface is very responsive and the interactive games on each page of the book are engaging and educational (Colours, numbers, etc.). My daughter has taken to this system - I've bought some of the books for the system. The prices can vary quite alot so check around. Overall, I'm very impressed and I would recommend it.
 An OK product with extremely poor customer support July 23, 2009

The product was dead on arrival, wrote to Amazon and they were ready to refund as they did not have a replacement. Called Leapfrog support and the call went to Phillipines. The call quality was extremely poor and the lady spoke in typical American accent making it more difficult to understand what she was saying. Even after 10 days there was no response, so had to call up their local office who relplaced it once the got the defective one back. Will think twice before buying LeapFrog products and will definitely not recommend.

Kids love it. Easy to handle & lots of features. Good hand co-ordination development. Only negative is the Leappad bok keeps falling off!

Very nice toy for child over 3 years. The stories are easy to follow and are lots of fun. My girls are very happy to play and being able to get different books keeps the interest going. Great buy.

I was a bit skeptical about getting this toy based on the other reviews that I've seen but I decided to give it a go. What a great decision. Perhaps whatever flaw was with this toy, the manufacturing folks have worked it out as ours works fine. My daughter loves this toy so much I've bought several of the books that accompany it. She can sit for ages playing with this toy which means it is a great success for everyone!
