A little bit pleased July 29, 2010 Firefly Pleased with the editorial features but expected more breadth of content for the recommended price. The special price I paid was fair but I feel Adobe are charging far too much for this product.
Let Down by Illegal Copy July 27, 2010 Graham Scott (Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 through Amazon UK from Graphics-Software-Express and their delivery lived up to expectations, i.e. very good.
Unfortunately, 30 days after installing and registering the software I received a message from Adobe telling me that I had a unauthorised copy as the software with the same product Key had already been installed on two other computers. The software had arrived in a shrink-wrapped case and appeared to be genuine but obviously wasn't.
I contacted the seller, Graphics-Software-Express, through Amazon asking for either an explanation or a refund. The seller decided very quickly to offer a full refund and a weak excuse that someone must have "stolen" the Product Key!! This unlikely excuse may have been believable if the software had only been loaded onto one other PC but certainly not two!
Amazon's reaction to the problem was very good and they have kept me updated on the sellers actions, i.e. the refund
The software is good and offers a number of options for storing and editing photographs but the whole experience has been marred by the "unusual" selling techniques of the seller.
Admirable! July 27, 2010 Tom Jay Very comprehensive and will meet the needs of the most demanding amateur photographer. An organising system maintains detail control of all your photographs and works with an all-inclusive editing system that enables the user to carry out corrections and manipulate photographs to achieve their own, individual, interpretation
Ok - but not as good as promised and has a sting in the tail July 21, 2010 David Roe (Dorset, England) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Despite its claims, it doesn't make photo editing easier than any other package, but it is reasonably easy to use.
The sting in the tail is that the software is (quite reasonably) limited to running on two machines, if you want to install on a third, you have to select help>deactivate on one of the original machines. If that machine has failed, you have to buy a new copy of the software.
Photoshop Elements 8 is great July 21, 2010 Michael Breewood (Scotland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Having just completed a short course on digital photography, I realised I needed a tool to process my photos - I tried the GIMP (Open Source equivalent to Photoshop), but it was just too complex - so I looked at Elements 8Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 (PC DVD).
Encouraged by the other reviews on Amazon, I bought it and I think it's just great. Easy to use, but capable of doing very complex things. Excellent value for money. I later bought a very good book on how to make full use of the capabilities of Elements 8 Photoshop Elements 8 Book for Digital Photographers (Voices That Matter)and I cannot recommend it highly enough.
