Can't go wrong with Birkenstock. My last pair have been in constant use for 20 years - bought in Colarado - and still used round the house and garden. These new black patent ones are brilliant - a bit classier than my old brown nubuck.

I'm sure there was nothing wrong with the sandals - they were just too big. You probably need to order a size smaller if you are female. The service from the seller was very good and I had a refund quite quickly.

I bought these because they had adjustable straps and also because the company has a good reputation. I wasn't disappointed. They are very well made and the footbed is very firm - perhaps a bit too firm for some people. The toe grips and arch support are well placed, although for me this is a problem because I have a bunion on my right foot which pushes my toes at an angle and therefore away from the grip. This is my fault, nothing to do with the sandals - the left one fits perfectly.

Firstly these shoes are probably the most comfy pair I have. They also do the job as they look very stylish whilst hugging your foot like a dream. The fact Birkenstocks are stylish yet comfy a pair of shoes rolled into one makes for a sure buy. Believe me buy this product and you will not be disapointed. Perfect for taking on holiday or just lounging around.

The product title describes these shoes as Nubuk, which to my understanding is soft leather. I was disappointed when the shoes arrived to find that the 'uppers' are made of man made material, only the footbed is made of nubuk . When the product title says Basalt Nubuk you assume the shoes will be basalt coloured and made of Nubuk. Come on Amazon please check the accuracy of your descriptions, when you buy on line it is all we have to go on. Other than that; great comfortable shoes.
