Now here's another genius invention from those ever-so-clever American johnnies that's straight out of the why-didn't-we-think-of-that file. The Snug Rug takes an everyday conundrum - staying warm on the sofa when you haven't got (a) a boyfriend, (b) a girlfriend, or (c) a winter fuel allowance - and responds to the challenge with typically American aplomb... namely taking a couple of existing ideas and, to coin a phrase, hybridising them. Think of the Snug Rug as a genetic cross-breed between a fleece and a blanket and you're there. Alternatively, one may think of it as Big Daddy's dressing gown. A fluffy house coat. A Jedi cape, without the hood. The Snug Rug is, in short, a gigantic fleece blanket with sleeves. Pop it on and disappear inside its cuddly massiveness and be enveloped by its sheer fleeciness. Then simply pop Friends on the DVD. Open a massive bag of Maltesers. And who needs mates? Snug Rugs also feature a useful pouch pocket for your TV remote control, glasses or mobile phone, so that they?re always close at hand. Soft to the touch, lightweight and warm, it's got large, loose sleeves so you don't actually feel you're wearing it. Which might defeat the purpose, but who are we to argue? Spiffing.

I bought this as a gift and I was so upset when my mum opened it and found a hole under the arm. Lucky she is of the make do and mend generation, although that did not take away the embarrassment I felt.

I am disappointed with this product. It does the job it says it does, in that it keeps you warm without having to have the central heating on, even in very cold conditions. My problem is that it is "one size fits all" and it is too small for me. Admittedly, I am a big man (XXL), but I feel a more generous fit would have been appropriate. Another problem I have is that it is too long, and when I want to walk in it, to the kitchen for example, I run the risk of getting my feet tangled in the blanket, and tripping up, which would certainly not be helpful to me, let alone someone elderly and less mobile. Having said all that, as I say, it does do "what it says on the tin", and perhaps the problem is mine for being too big, but I can't help that!

Lovely warm slanket! Only problem is that it sheds navy blue 'hair' everywhere! Had to wash and tumble before use. Still sheds but becoming less.

Bought this for my other half for christmas, came really quickly. Really soft and unbelievably warm no matter how cold it is. Immediately ordered another for myself and now live in it at every opportunity. Would recommend to anyone.
