My hard drive was getting very full even though I had cleaned out all the rubish. Two solutions; new computer with a bigger hard drive or an external hard drive to use as an archive for little used files. I chose the latter option and and bought the Seagate external portable drive. I transferred a load of music files that I rarely use to the external drive and solved my hard drive overload problem instantly. The music files are readily accessible if I need them. When I do decide to buy a new computer, the hard drive will be very handy for transfering data files to the new machine.

I bought this hard drive for a present for my dad who is not the most technical person. He managed the plug and play no problem. The drive works really well and is very good value for money. The reason for giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it seems to be a bit temperamental with the USB ports on my dad's computer but then again it works perfectly well when plugged at the back of the pc so it may just be that particular USB port that is the problem. I will recommend that hdd.

If you want a simple and straight forward plug and go device, then I can absolutely recommend this hard drive.
No passwords (to forget) or remembering to eject before unplugging.

Bordering on the techno illiterate side of things, I wanted a portable hard drive that required as little ability as possible and this has proved to be perfect for me. Plug and play and away you go. I am using this to store all my photos and videos as they are currently spread over an array of different pcs and laptops at home and work. It is small, neat and easy to transport. I'm really pleased with the purchase and Amazon's usual efficient delivery service.
